PENRITH, AUSTRALIA - Dramatic video footage has emerged in Australia of a father saving his infant son when the two of them were hit by a car. Security camera footage shows Andrew Leitch clutching steadfastly to his son Hayden as a car crashed into them, pinning him against the front of a shop. The traffic accident happened in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith in 2008 and was broadcast for the first time Monday, 10/05/10, on Nine Network’s show, "A Current Affair." Leitch was with his parents, who were also hit. Leitch held his son to his chest as he was pushed into a storefront window and had his legs pinned by the car. "I thought if they hit the back of me, I've got least chance of, you know, might break a leg or whatever, that's fixable. But if they hit my son, he's not fixable," Leitch said. He told the program his son was completely uninjured. Leitch suffered a broken leg and his parents were seriously injured but have since recovered. Nine Network reported that the car was driven by an elderly woman who lost control.
