World Music: Mexican Institute of Sound, "Katya, Tanya, Paulina y La Kim"
-Download the song-Buy the album(Mexico) A man strolls through Mexico City’s Museum of Natural History, reminiscing about his ex-girlfriends. They all appear, and each one inserts herself into her own specific diorama. Camilio Lara is literally the "Mexican Institute of Sound" a project that grew out of his vast vinyl collection and his love of the mashup. A major record exec by day and a dejay at night, the MIS grew out of sound collages he created for his own enjoyment and which turned into collectors items. The charm of this video is its slightly self deprecating quality. As Lara proclaims: 'This song is not a girlfriend cemetery…Paulina so nice and educated, Tania so beautiful and sophisticated, The Kim was adorable and intelligent and Katia was nuts but very decent…." He admits that now he just wants something comfortable "a middle class type of thing, who’s like me but loves me."
