The world’s first and largest airline alliance based in Frankfurt am Main was launched in 14/5/1997 by the founding members LH, UA, TG, SK and AC. The 5 star logo of which represents them. With 27 firm members and 5 pending members, Star Alliance covers much of the world and carries the slogan "The Airline Network for Earth". In May 2007, Star Alliance celebrated its10th anniversary and was voted by Skytrax as the Best Airline Alliance at the 2007 World Airline Survey, as well as the Best Airline Alliance by Business Traveler during that year.
