UBS Upgrades the New York Times Co to Neutral from Sell, Rai
UBS upgraded the New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT) to neutral from sell today, and raised its price target for the stock to $9 from $7.The bank said that print trends for the second quarter were better than it was expecting, and the adoption of the paywall has exceeded their initial expectation as well. The bank now sees a print ad revenue decline of 4.5% in the second quarter from a year ago, double digit news media digital growth, and total paywall subscribers of 350,000 within the first year of its launch.Shares of The New York Times are trading up 2.64% at $8.94.The New York Times is currently above its 50-day moving average (MA) of $8.02 and above its 200-day of $8.94.
