石原都知事、2020年夏の五輪招致を正式表明「戦いに挑む限り、勝たなかったら意味がない」
石原 慎太郎東京都知事が、2020年の夏のオリンピック招致を正式に表明した。盛大に行われた日本体育協会と日本オリンピック委員会の創立100周年記念式典。そのレセプションパーティーで、石原都知事が、2020年のオリンピック招致に立候補することを正式に表明した。石原都知事は「(2020年の)オリンピック招致という戦いに挑む限りは、これは勝たなかったら意味がない!」と述べ、石原節をさく裂させた。東日本大震災からの復興を開催理念として、これから世界にアピールしていく。式典に招かれていた、IOC(国際オリンピック委員会)のジャック・ロゲ会長は、「立候補してくれて、IOCは大変光栄です。健闘を祈ります」と述べた。
