楽天の新監督候補に浮上している阪神の星野仙一シニアディレクター(63)。6日、プロ野球実行委員会が開かれた。阪神のオーナー付シニアディレクターの星野仙一氏。楽天はすでに、阪神へ監督就任を要請することを伝えている。6日、プロ野球実行委員会が開かれ、両チームの関係者が直接顔を合わせた。楽天の米田 純球団代表は「星野仙一さんを(新監督の)候補者の1人として、リストアップしていることは事実です。三木谷会長と(阪神の)坂井オーナーが面談をしたということについても、事実であります」と、事実関係を認めた。阪神の公式戦終了を待ってから、正式な就任要請を行う見込み。
