Upper-class wife Dorothy (Susan Lynch), struggling to live with a hot-tempered husband, one day sees a man abusing his girlfriend (Rachel Weisz) in the street. Quickly reacting, she slugs the guy with a pole, and comforts the girl. The two drag his unconscious form away from the scene, but he dies unexpectedly. Now the two must cover up the deed and start over with their lives...but evading scrutiny and the man\u0027s family is no easy task.
