Lockheed Martin Awarded $12.5M Contract for Air Force’s ICBM
Lockheed Martin (LMT) announced Monday that it has received a $12.5 million, one-year subcontract from Northrop Grumman (NOC) for refurbishment of reentry vehicle arming and fuzing assemblies for the U.S. Air Force’s Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system. Under the subcontract, which includes an option for a second year, LMT Space System's Valley Forge facility in King of Prussia, Pa., will replace components, refurbish and test the assemblies. Under an earlier contract in 2009, LMT was able to demonstrate the feasibility of the refurbishment effort. The company is the original equipment manufacturer for the arming and fuzing assembly. LMT is a principal teammate to NOC, the ICBM prime integration contractor for the U.S. Air Force. LMT shares are down 0.53% to $80.04, while NOC shares are down 1.06% to $65.40.
