Images of the Resistance, Chapter 4
Juan Carlos Cáceres Valenzuela was born in Santiago Chile in1956. During the dictatorship, he froze his studies and took to the streets with a camera as his companion, in order to register and denounce the confrontation between the military regime and a Chilean society that commenced revolting against the dictatorship. From 1981 until 1991, J.C.Cáceres witnessed and registered this daily routine of violence. Thanks to his courage, we can appreciate a unique register of the political events of those times. IMAGES OF THE RESISTANCE is a project based on the organisation, description and digitalisation of 3000 unpublished black & white photos, from the personal archives of J.C.Cáceres. This documentary was filmed during the exhibition IMAGES OF THE RESISTANCE in the National Archives of Santiago, Chile, 30th of January 2009.
