Scrums Opposition MPs attacked the government over its G8/G20 summit expenses, which were disclosed in response to a request by Liberal MP Dan McTeague. Liberal Deputy leader Ralph Goodale, Liberal MP Marc Garneau, NDP MP Paul Dewar, and Bloc Québécois House leader Pierre Paquette reacted to the figures, which included over $300,000 for sunscreen and insect repellent and $14,000 for glow sticks.Garneau and Paquette also commented on the recent Maclean’s story which called Quebec “"the most corrupt province in Canada".Liberal MP Todd Russell, whose riding is in Newfoundland and Labrador, called for more government action to help those who have been affected by hurricane Igor. Environment Minister Jim Prentice spoke to reporters about the monitoring of the Athabasca River, which is located near Alberta’s oil sands.
