THE MOSES OF THE COLD WORLD
In 1989, me and a couple of wide-eyed teenaged boys thought we could actually take the Good Girls to our senior prom. Even then, Rick Brown had a knack for making the possibilities of life seem within our grasps. It is because of him that my life in New York started. When we all left Silver Spring to pursue our next endeavors, Rick moved to NYC and became a music man. It was Rick Brown that opened my mind up to the world of possibilities that existed not just in music but in the future of popular culture. So I packed my bags caught a bus up I-95, and moved in with his family. I know that friends shouldn’t say that they owe each other anything but friendship BUT I owe this man a debt of gratitude for putting the possibilities of life as we knew it to the palms of my hands. Many things in life including the interviews of 60-70% of the people featured here, would not have been possible if Rick Brown hadn’t shown me a load of support, hired me and been there for me and my family over the past 22 years.
