“Script Kiddies” Claim Credit for Fox News Twitter Hack, Secret Service Investigating
Fox News and the Secret Service say they each have launched investigations after the Fair and Balanced media outlet was the victim of a Twitter hack on July 4th. The Fox News Twitter feed posted a series of tweets stating that President Barack Obama had been assassinated in Iowa, including "@joebiden the best of luck as our new president" and "In such a time of madness, there’s light at the end of the tunnel." 30, 000 people were following the Twitter feed at the time of the alleged hack. A group calling itself "Script Kiddies" claimed credit for the prank and Fox has since removed the erroneous tweets, vowing to take measures to prevent future unauthorized access to FoxNews.com accounts. The president spent the July 4th holiday with his family at the White House.
