Buisiness Opportunities Russia Spain
Russia: frost, caviar, vodka, petroleum and ⦠much more. Spain: flamenco, sandy beaches, bullfighting, arts, football and recent achievements in sports. These stereotyped images of both Russia and Spain have also affected the economic relations between two countries limiting them to particular industries and leaving aside vast business opportunities still to be explored. Once the crisis is over, both countries acquire a strategic position in the new world economical order: Russia as a member of BRIC, the so-called group of new global economic actors and Spain as the European gateway to Latin America, where the crisis was overcome in a most dynamic manner. All this makes the possible collaboration of Russia and Spain in the areas of economics, education, science and technology even more attractive. 2011 is proclaimed the year of Russia in Spain and Spain in Russia. The related festivities represent a magnificent opportunity to know each other better and to explore the diverse business opportunities offered by both countries, as well as to discover the main difficulties and obstacles for export in the Russian and Spanish markets. This seminar aims to break the widely spread stereotypes and to set the beginning of a long road of exploration and improvement of economic relationship between two countries. During our fourth seminar CIFF 2.0 José Villena, a former CIFF graduate and currently a project manager in COFIDES (CompañÃa Española de Financiación del Desarrollo) will destroy the stereotypes by giving examples of the successful internalization of some Russian and Spanish entrepreneurs and companies.. Before COFIDES, Mr. Villena worked for the TRADE OFFICE of the Spanish Embassy in Moscow providing Spanish companies that wanted to approach either the Russian market or the neighbouring countries such as Georgia, Armenia and Byelorussia with all the necessary assistance and help, as well as solving their problems and doubts.
