Former university professor James Pettis (VAL KILMER) boasts to the local paper that he has trapped six people and is holding them hostage in a Turkish bath to prove his hypothesis that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming. Walter, a newsman, gets in touch with police investigator, Jack Mancini (ARMAND ASSANTE). Pettis is arrested and brought to police headquarters where Mancini tries to ascertain the truth. Meanwhile, as the temperature increases inside the steam room, the nerves of the beleaguered guests begin to shatter. With the heavy door locked, their only chance is to break what appears to be an unbreakable glass window in the door. Tempers flare, fights break out, people begin to die off and still Pettis refuses to break. Can Jack Mancini crack the case and rescue the surviving guests?
