Nymphea
Nymphea is the latin name for Water Lily. This summer an explosion of these beautiful waterplants is to be seen in a marsh south of Breda in the Netherlands. The name Nymphaea comes from the Greek term "??µfa?a", possibly related to "??µf?" meaning "nymph". The nymphs in Greek mythology were supernatural feminine beings associated with springs, so the application of the name to delicately flowered aquatic plants is understandable.
