Artist Interview30.09.2008 Goshka Macuga merges the roles of collector, curator and artist, creating carefully staged, mixed-media installations which draw on the conventions of the historical archive and exhibition making.In a form of collaboration with artists, both past and present, her dramatic environments juxtapose disparate collections of objects: archive material, film, sound, her own works and works by other artists. Ignoring traditional hierarchies of display, she creates a freedom to suggest new narratives and relationships; between artists, objects and the museum.
