1 Year of SDO/AIA, High Speed Time Lapse, 1080p HD
For more information, events, movies & images: lmsal.com lmsal.com This 1080p HD movie is a highly sped up time-lapse of one whole year of Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) data. Each frame/time step is 1 hour (that is the hour hand spinning, while the minute hand is standing still :-) This movie shows the beauty of our Sun, how active it is, the dynamics of the solar corona, flares, filament eruptions, coronal mass ejections, solar "tornadoes" and many more interesting features and events. This data is a blend of 3 extreme ultraviolet (EUV) Iron emission line channels observed by the AIA (Atmospheric Imaging Assembly) instrument on SDO. The colorization is: red=211Å = Fe XIV (Iron 14 emission line, ~2 million K = ~3.6 million Fahrenheit) green=193Å = Fe XII (Iron 12, ~1.5MK) blue=171Å = Fe IX (Iron 9, ~1MK) For more information, events, movies & images: lmsal.com lmsal.com
