徐立之：「我和香港人一樣，都經歷過窮困的年代，我在外國二、三十年做研究的時候，教會了我用樂觀積極的態度做事，我回到香港之後，親身體會到香港人的拼勁，遇強愈強，而且能做得到、做得好，我最記得當年沙士的時候，全城齊心抗疫，從前線的醫護人員，到實驗室的工作人員，都能夠充分發揮香港人的精神，勇敢面對困難，而且非常有愛心，靈活變通，使香港的經濟很快可以從谷底反彈，回顧香港幾十年來，都遇過無數次高低起伏，但每次我們遇到逆境，都能很快回復元氣，而且更甚於以前，所以我們一定要有信心，香港人一定得。」
