Roger Corman Film Clip Reel
From June 16 to 22, 2011, the Munich Film Society hosts the annual KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival at the Gloria Palast. This year’s guest of honor is Hollywood legend Roger Corman. On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th of June, he will speak about the history and future of independent filmmaking at the two-day Masterclass. Corman, who has been honored with an Honorary Oscar for his lifework and who recently turned 85, will not only talk about the path he has taken and which strategies he followed, but will also shed light on the future. The main topics of his lecture will be his experiences and ideas about financing, production and sales of low budget films, concentrating on the question of how to quickly and professionally realize and market films on a reduced budget. Corman will lay out his insider knowledge of how to get the most out of a small budget and will inspire with his refreshing and decisive stance on financing and the film industry. And of course, there will be plenty of opportunities for discussion and Q&As with the participants. Don’t miss this unique two-day opportunity to experience one of the most multifaceted and fascinating figures in film history. The event at the Gloria Palast is generously supported by FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and the American Consulate General in Munich. Participation fee is €220; an early registration discount is available until 3 June 2011 for €180. Application can be made via sofortueberweisung.de or PayPal.
