A Conversation with Ingrid Mattson
WPSU and Penn State’s Institute for Arts and Humanities present an open forum with Ingrid Mattson, first woman president of the Islamic Society of North America. She talks about her conversion to Islam and encouraging the understanding of the Muslim community. Mattson, who teaches at the Hartford Seminary in Connecticut, studied philosophy and the fine arts at the University of Ontario, and received a doctorate in Islamic Studies from the University of Chicago.
