T.Rex - Ride A White Swan
Live At Beat Club!Marc Boland first started his group under the full name Tyrannosaurus Rex in 1967. He and percussionist Steve Peregrin Took performed as a duo gentle acoustic material. After Bolan replaced Took – due to musical and personal misunderstandings – with bongo player Mickey Finn, the name of the band was shortened to "T.Rex". With producer Tony Visconti the band moved over to electric guitars, the sound became more pop-oriented and the first single "Ride A White Swan" was released. The song reached # 2 of the UK Top Ten by the end of 1970. It's regarded as the birth of what today is known as "Glam Rock". After the release of the simply titled album "T.Rex", glam rock swept all over Europe the following years.
