日本核危機引發全球對輻射的恐慌,這次核危機會造成多少人死亡?有專家估計,不會有人因輻射而死,早前東京的食水受輻射污染,專家計算,要飲數百年才增加百分之四致癌機會。切爾諾貝爾事件後,聯合國組織的長期跟進發現,事件帶來四十七人死亡,六千八百四十八人患甲狀腺癌,當中九成多數能治癒,高輻射地區的畸胎率甚至比低輻射地區的還要低,但當地居民想像輻射問題嚴重,這種心理恐慌被稱為「輻射恐懼症」。 十年前香港華仁中學發現數名學生患癌,有人歸咎校園下面的隧道內,放置了低輻射廢料,但隧道內原來只是螢光表面,煙霧感應器等廢料。日本核危機後,不少港人不敢吃日本食物,甚至連到日本旅遊也不敢去,這種對輻射的恐慌,又是否恰如其份呢? 記者:翁振輝
