Woodsongs 588: Celebration of the Ukulele featuring Brittni Paiva and Victoria Vox
BRITTNI PAIVA is already the preeminent female ukulele player from Hawaii. At 21 years of age, she’s an award-winning multi-instrumentalist whose sound and concept are influenced by jazz, rock, flamenco, and classical music as well as world music from Brazil, Japan, and elsewhere. Brittni and her ukulele are a brilliant match: Both are humble in nature, small in size, and very powerful with proper delivery. Brittni’s new CD is titled Four Strings: The Fire Within. VICTORIA VOX and her ukulele return to the WoodSongs Stage with a brand new CD. Known as a pioneer for singer/songwriters in the growing ukulele genre, Victoria Vox has been writing and performing songs across the country about whatever tickles her tires. Refreshingly modern and innovative, the award-winning vocalist and songwriter lives in Baltimore, and tours 130+ shows a year Paris to Honolulu. The new album, Exact Change was financed by her fans. It’s a blend of traditional roots and blues, pop-rock sensibility and a distinct worldly flair.
