LeapFrog Enterprises Unveils LeapPad, a Tablet for Kids
LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:LF) unveiled today the LeapPad, a personalized learning tablet designed for kids ages four and up.The LeapPad has 2 GB of memory, a 5" touch screen with 480x272 resolution, a sensor that allows motion based play, a build in camera, video recorder, microphone and a stylus.The LeapPad is now available for pre-sale at major retailers in the U.S, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. The LeapPad will be priced at $99.99 with downloadable apps priced at $5.00 and game cartridges at $24.99.Craig Hendrickson, senior vice president and chief product officer for LeapFrog said, "We wanted LeapPad to offer kids the ability to create their own personalized experiences and have fun while learning at their own pace with content that automatically adjusts to their skill level. LeapPad’s apps inspire kids to explore their inner creativity.
