Public Service Law
Elaine R. Jones' speech titled Public Service Law discusses the interconnectedness of the issues of civil and human rights and how we make a mistake when we think we are not a part of the fabric of laws that protect us all. The anthropologist Margaret Mead made a statement that has resonance for us today and her quote is "never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, its the only thing that ever has." From the Series:UVA NewsMakers 1998 - 2000
