They have the potential to be the movers and shakers of the future. Every year, the World Economic Forum appoints more than 200 exceptional people from the fields of economics, politics or the arts as Young Global Leaders. In the last part of our series, we profile three of these promising young people from the Netherlands, China and Germany.   Mabel van Oranje feels that senior citizens should have a greater say in society. She points to parts of Africa where the tradition of village elders is still strong. The organization she heads cites Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter and Desmond Tutu as examples of the kind of leadership figures who could be of benefit to our globalized world. Feng Jun sees a strong connection between leadership and harmony. He says that the economy benefits from individual satisfaction. Feng Jun is a self-made millionaire. He had very limited funds when starting up his company, which has since boomed to become China’s biggest consumer electronics supplier: Aigo. Michael Krause is a manager in the logistics division of Deutsche Post. He first became interested in the issue of leadership while still at school, after noticing that fellow pupils wanted to change things but were unwilling to assume responsibility. Krause became class representative and is now a very successful manager. He saw off competition from 19,000 rivals to win the 'CEO of the Future' accolade in 2004.
