KU fraternity expelled after party
Phi Kappa Theta is the first fraternity ever expelled by the Interfraternity Council President at KU. One fraternity member said the fraternity will file an appeal by the end of the week. The IFC vote was the result of a party the fraternity hosted where police confiscated 16 kegs of beer. Some members were selling alcohol without a license, and selling to minors. The party was not registered with the IFC, which is mandatory. IFC president Scott Shorten said that the fraternity members clearly violated the rules.
