仏・パリで開かれているユネスコの世界遺産委は、東京都の「小笠原諸島」を新たな世界遺産に登録する見通し。「小笠原諸島」は大陸と陸続きになったことがないため、固有の生物が数多く生息している。登録が決定した場合、日本の世界遺産としては１５件目に。
