"iHood" is a quick tour of some of my favorite nearby haunts. Production shots were recorded from late afternoon Saturday, June 4th, 2011 to dusk covering a 3.5 mile radius (under 6 km) which included sculptures, architecture and historic movie palaces bundled with a premiere party. Instead of composing music for this tour I decided to record the diversity of urban drones from freeways and rail traffic to enhance an already rich ambient soundscape. "iHood" is my submission to the Vimeo Weekend Project Group’s "Local Tour" challenge due on Tuesday, June 7th, 2011 with the following boundaries: "Make a 1 - 2 minute documentary-style video showing us something local. You must introduce yourself on camera. " I must? But I'm camera shy! Ok, I did, and in fact start with the intro. I got this little embarrassment out of the way first thing—no mask or sunglasses?
